I am a twenty-five year old girl from the Netherlands. I've been going by dominique for going on ten years now (holy shit o_O), although that's not my real name. Few people do know my real name, including surname, and I'd like to keep it that way.
I've been part of online "fandom" as a whole since I was about fifteen or sixteen years old. My first fandom was Hercules/Xena, two very popular shows back in the day. I hung out mostly in the Ares part of the fandom. After that, I moved on to The Sentinel fandom and later on Gundam Wing, to this day the only anime I've ever been interested in.
At some point in time, Harry Potter ate my brain and although I still have a fondness for the first five books, I'm no longer a die-hard fan, and the final two installments left me mostly disappointed with the way Rowling wrapped up the series. Although the series and its fandom brought me a lot of joy and good times, these days I get my jollies mocking it and making fun of the people who can't see its myriad flaws.
In September 2005, I started playing the online RPG Guild Wars and I guess it's my main fandom right now. Other than GW, I also play Grand Theft Auto, Team Fortress 2 and Half-Life 2. The Sims 2 used to be one of my favorite games too, but I've been mostly ignoring it lately.
I like to read fanfiction and meta. Fanfiction is fun because it combines my favorite book, game or movie with my favorite hobby, reading. I read all kinds of fic (gen, het, slash; gender is irrelevant in pairing chemistry), though I tend to stay away from dark and depressing stuff (if I want dark and depressing, I'll look at past events in my own life, thanks).
I don't like Snape. I love Sirius/Remus. I dislike Ron/Hermione. I loathe, with every fiber of my being, Harry/Ginny. I like Harry/Hermione. I like Harry/Luna. I ship Mhenlo/Cynn, like, a lot. Ziva is so into Tony. Jack and Sam do not have any romantic chemistry; Daniel and Vala do, although I didn't care for their get-together in Unending. Factions is my favorite GW campaign; Elona has too much sand and EotN is too grindy. I hate getting titles and think GW was far better off without them. Ruben Nicolai is a cutie, and he looks even better IRL (saw him live in March 2008 :D. Envy me!). Once Upon A Time In Mexico is my favorite Johnny Depp movie. I loved At World's End. I didn't think Norrington was OOC in either of the sequels. Elizabeth rocks. Vice City was the best GTA and Tommy Vercetti the best protagonist. CJ was a whiny little bitch badly in need of a spine.
